6.000 members of the academy of Oscars vote on March 7th to reward the film talents. Food, inc presented to Fife in 2009 is nominated in the category Best documentary.
Tom Sherak, the president of the academy and the actress Anne Hathaway announced the list of the nominated. Food, inc. Robert Kenner's film presented to the international Festival of the film of environment in November, 2009 has been retained in the category Better documentary.
Robert Kenner's film analyzes the cogs of an industry which influences every day our environment and our health. From Immense fields of corn to colored stalls in supermarkets, by way of unhealthy slaughterhouses, A journalist leads investigation to know where come from the products which we consume every day. Behind the image of "farm produce", he(it) discovers with many difficulties what the food-processing lobbies try to hide: the real conditions of breeding and cutting down of our meats and poultry. Thanks to experts' interventions as author of Fast food nation, this investigation illustrates the bottoms of an industry which sacrifices the notions of quality and health for considerations of return and of profit.
