The Children's program of the festival
The program Eco kids features a selection of short films dealing with the subject of biodiversity. For children aged 4 and over.
For its second and subsequent year, the Eco kids program will welcome families to view animation films dealing with the subject of biodiversity. The screening will take place on Saturday, February 11th at 3pm at the Cinéma des cinéastes, on Sunday, February 12th at the Capitole in Suresnes (92) and on Wednesday, February 15th at 2pm at Étoile Cosmos, in Chelles (77). In addition to the screening of the nine short films, the show will be followed by a quick snack and a Q&A with film crews (only for the Cinéma des cinéastes screening).
The selection of the films has been made in collaboration with « Nature et découvertes », the official partner for this event. All the films lean towards a different genre: Pinchaque aims at informing on the characteristics of the Colombian tapir, Amazonia is a dynamic comedy taking place in the Amazonian forest, Hanging Around describes the surprising encounter between a leopard and a sloth,…
« The goal of Eco kids is to offer an informative and poetic approach on environmental subjects » says Inès Hendaoui, the festival short-film programmer. «We want to tackle these subjects channelling them through humour and poetry, while bearing in mind that the films must also speak to children. »
These films which feature surprising themes and ambitious animation techniques, reflect well what the Eco kids program is about: allowing children to discover films that were designed for them with the desire to escape the rigid codes of the productions often shown on television.
