Armed conflicts which Columbia has experienced in the course of 45 years of war, have, at the same time, slowed the exploitation of primeval forests by enterprises of all sorts. If peace is achieved, one of the world's richest diversity risks destruction in the name of development.
This cruel paradox has convinced Franz Florez to play an active role in the battle for the preservation of natural species. Veterinarian by training, his Columbian went everywhere throughout his country in his serpent bus. Arms both deadly and fascinating, these animals, so widely feared, are in fact efficient allies for those who wish to rally the people to their cause.
From young "dandies" in the cities to jungle fighters, including cultivators of coca, Franz Florez brings together an ensemble of characters from a divided Columbia, including the most dangerous. And then penetrates to the most remote lands inhabited by the native population.
