Transport: a regional council priority
The regional council is making every effort to improve the quality and availability of transport for all travellers in ÃŽle-de-France. In 2007, it dedicated a quarter of its budget to transports.
Developing public transport
The regional council sees the development of the passenger transport system as a high priority. A number of major projects are being introduced and those already in progress are being continued… Ambitious programmes to improve mobility for everyone
Improving service quality
Equipment, information, safety… if it is to offer an effective alternative to the car, the development of public transport should go hand in hand with improvements to the services on offer.
Transport accessible to all
The regional council sees public transport as transport for all, and acts to make it easier for people with reduced mobility, people on limited incomes, students, night owls and night workers to travel around.
Roads and freight
With a constant concern to act as an ecological region, the regional council encourages the use of different methods of goods transport, and is keen to reduce congestion and noise pollution on the roads.
