Paris - Île-de-France offers a very French art of living and has many assets that make it a favourite destination. The regional council is working to make it even more attractive.Paris - Île-de-France welcomes 45 million tourists every year, 60% of who come from abroad. Tourism generates over 300,000 direct jobs. The regional council spends over 20 million euros a year on tourism.
Concerning the tourist offer, the regional council and its partners have chosen to promote a number of flagship centres in Île-de-France: Paris, Auvers-sur-Oise, Fontainebleau, etc.
The Regional Tourist Authority (CRT) accompanies the regional council’s tourism policy and plays an advisory role with regard to tourist amenities. It coordinates the work of tourist organisations and sets up initiatives to promote the Paris - Île-de-France destination in France and abroad.
Three new tourist reception and information desks were opened at Roissy - Charles-de-Gaulle Airport on 5 July 2007.
Pidf.com is THE portal for tourism in Île-de-France. It has information on cultural events, special suggestions for children or the disabled, means of transport, accommodation options, etc.
