The regional council helps live performance to continue to exist. It encourages people to enjoy theatre, song, dance, music, puppet shows, etc.Support for live performance has been considerably boosted, rising from 8 million euros in 1997 to 30 million euros in 2007.
The regional council supports performance venues and workshops, companies and events, thus allowing live performance to continue to exist.
The Act of 13 August 2004 transferred a new responsibility to regional councils in the field of culture: managing the organisation and financing of professional music, dance and drama teaching.
